Congrats to Brownstoner, Brooklyn Inside and Out, and this week's Blog Carnival of Real Estate. Good Show. A lot of interesting posts from our regulars, irregulars, and a few new comers.
If we want to be found on Technorati, Google, etc.; we need to post often, link to the other sites, comment on their posts and track back to them. (My first broker told us, "Don't be Secret Agents".) (I just don't get "anonymous comments". You're not buying something on ebay.) Search Engines love blogs. Their algorithms (Al Gore Rhythms for Global Warming Searches) are starting to rate a frequency of change index, especially on the home page. With all their "current-cy" or "recent-cy", blogs just rank higher naturally and organically . Blogs ping Technorati and Google, and should have Technorati Tags. ZillowBlog.com's Google Page Rank (6) is higher than Zillow.com's (5).
I saw a great article in the WSJ's Startup Journal by Alan Horowitz, on how to get high organic or natural search engine rankings. This is important for those of us who either can't or choose not to spend big bucks on online ads. Searchers tend to click through on organic links at up to 10 times the rate of paid ad links. (Think of what you do when you get search results.) Time and effort on improved Search Engine Optimization is time well spent.
Did anyone else catch that our fearless leader at NAR, Tom Stevens, now has a blog. I can't figure out how to comment on his blog, yet. His blog is a Typepad blog, but he doesn't have "comments open", so his blog is about as interested in what we have to say as the rest of the NAR.
Page rank is indeed important for those who likes to earn from online ads. Anyway it seems that google have page rank of 6 but youtube have a pagerank of 8. Anyway I wonder how we could really increased our page rank in SEO but I get some points from you. I keep it in mind. Thanks for the info.
