On Friday, 3/23/07, Edith Lank gave a presentation to the GRAR (Greater Rochester Association of Realtors). Edith, Rochester, NY's most famous Realtor (with apologies to Phil Nothnagle), is a personal hero of mine. When Real Estate was "A man's job", she fought discrimination and prejudice to become one of the most successful Real Estate Columnists in America.
To say I was delighted, amused and bemused, would be a great understatement.
Rochester, New York; of Kodak, Xerox and PayChex fame, has its own Award-winning Real Estate Advice Columnist, syndicated in more than 100 newspapers and Websites. She has taught college Real Estate courses, hosted radio and TV shows, written for Inman and Realtor.org, and has written eight Real Estate books, including the NYS prelicense Agent/Broker Text, Modern Real Estate Practice in New York; which is about to make its millionth sale.
The GRAR sponsored the event to benefit their Association's Library. Edith presented autographed copies of her latest book, I've Heard It All And So should You* *Confessions of a Real Estate Columnist to all the attendees.
I've Heard It All... organizes her collection of the best reader letters and her replies to buyers, sellers, agents; and even a few of our prison's finest. You can read about St Joseph Statues, the law, FSBO's, the mortgage and FSOB's. (The St Joseph Statue and convict stories are most appealing.)
Edith also gave out some of the publisher's copies of Real Estate books she'd received. Many of the books tauted: "How to make a million dollars in Real Estate". But it seems more writers are using the tried and true way to make a million, by writing or publishing a book telling people "How to make a million dollars in Real Estate". And if you believe that, I have some land in Florida to sell you for no money down.
Edith's business card should read, "Your Grandmother In Real Estate".
Is Edith Lank the Dear Abby of Real Estate? No! Dear Abby is the Edith Lank of Personal Advice.
Give 'em Heck, Edith!... And an upside-down Statue of St Joseph.
Adapt Or Die! Happy Searching.

I was told there is a new federal tax credit for agreeing to not develop natural land. Is it true? Where can I find out more? I am about to sell my house on 10 acres www.paradiseinpaintvalley.com and really would like to know
